What’s in the shop...?

Food

We also have space to sell various dried, tinned and some fresh goods. We supply organic products ranging from different types of rice and other pulses, through to dried fruit and nuts. Organic pastas, noodles, grains and other flakes are also available. A wide range of these are also Fair-trade, ensuring the producers are actually given a fair wage for their work.

We are also aware of the huge expense in transporting such products around the world and so are keen to support local producers too. To that end we are happy to supply you with 3 different apple juices, from Fenland Apple Juices, with the fruit being harvested from either Wisbech or near Holt
We are also stocking locally farmed and milled organic grains and flours, including muesli, flour, wheat bran and semolina from Maud Foster Mill in Boston, Lincolnshire.
We also stock several local cheeses. Two from Popplylot Farm in Feltwell, Norfolk White Lady and Wissington, which are both sheeps milk cheeses. We also stock 3 of Mrs Temple’s cheeses, from Wells-next-sea, the Walsingham, Warham with sundried tomato and Binham Blue.
Finally we are stocking local pork, from either Little Fransham or Shouldham. This is via Howards Butchers in Gayton, whose sausages are renowned in the region. We are selling their sausages, bacon, cooked ham and pork pies as well as farm assured chicken breasts. We are also able to weigh out larger quantities of flour, oats, lentils and sugar for those of you who use them more. We buy them in 25kg sacks and are happy to weigh out anything over one kilo for you.

Environment, Home,

Personal Care

We are keen to help people look at how they are caring for their environment and bodies. We know that our skin is good at absorbing things, hence why nicotine or pain relief patches are used on the skin. To that end we have thought of our clothes as a second skin and the houses we live in as a third skin. Everything around us has the potential therefore, to be absorbed into our skins and so what we wash ourselves with and use around us is therefore important. We are currently supplying a range of skin care products that do not contain many of the ingredients known to irritate skin, such as SLS (sodium lauryl sulphates) and parabens as well as organic cotton tampons that are made from unbleached cotton. The paragraph below summarises these products and can be found on their website
’Natracare pads are made from totally chlorine-free, natural cellulose materials derived from ecologically - managed forests and are over 95% biodegradable and compostable. Natracare is first to use the new biodegradable Bioplastics that are made from starch and hypoallergenic natural and effective sugar-based absorbents, to replace commonly used, petroleum-derived synthetic materials. Natracare dares to be different, using natural materials that will compost and biodegrade instead of lingering in the environment for years on end. Because of our demanding environmental criteria and health concerns, Natracare is recognised as an ethical brand.’

We have a range of biodegradable cleaning products as well, including the BioD range of washing up liquid, multi surface cleaner, laundry detergent and conditioner. We also have a supply of soap nuts, a berry grown sustainably in India, also used for washing clothes.

We also stock biodegradable baby wipes as well as children’s body wash and shampoos.
